Car Parking Update

Car Parking Update - October 2024

Starting Monday 14th October 2024, there will be significant changes to parking at the Royal Derby Hospital. Car Parks 4 and 6 will close while a new multi-storey car park is built in the current location of Car Park 6. These works are essential to improving the parking situation at the Royal Derby Hospital for all patients and visitors. More information about the changes can be found here.

Where should I park after 14th October?

Private patients are asked to use Car Park 7 or Car Park 8, with 7 being closest to the unit. On arrival at the car park, you will be provided with a ticket. Please bring this to your appointment/admission, so that it can be validated by our team. Parking for private patients will continue to be free of charge. The signposted 90 minute limitation will not apply to your visit.

Is there a drop off / pick up area?

Yes, there is a drop off area directly outside our unit at Entrance 21.

My private appointment is not at Derby Private Health but another location in the hospital – where can I park?

Where possible, we’d ask that you use Car Park 7 or 8. If you have a blue badge, you may also use Car Park 2 or 3.

When will the new car park be complete?

The Trust hopes that the new car parking facilities will be completed by Summer 2025. We will update this page with more information as soon as it is available.

Can I use the new Park & Ride service from Kingsway?

Yes, an off-site car park with a bus connection will be running during the ongoing works. You can use this service if preferred. More information can be found about this here.

Should I leave extra time to find a parking space?

Until the changes are in place, we cannot be certain of how busy on-site parking facilities will be. At this time, we are planning that there may be significant delays. We would ask that you arrive at least 30 minutes before your stated appointment time. This page will be updated once we have a better view of the situation. We are very sorry for any inconvenience during this time and will do our best to mitigate the situation. If you are running late for an appointment, we ask that you call us as soon as possible to let us know.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused by these essential works, and thank you for your patience and understanding. If you have any questions relating to parking, please do not hesitate to contact us. We can be reached at 01332 785 200 or at info@derbyprivatehealth.co.uk
