Non-invasive weight loss procedure now available

A new non-invasive weight loss procedure launches at Derby Private Health this week.

We are pleased to be able to offer self-funding patients the Elipse programme – a fully supported lifestyle programme to kick-start your weight loss.

The Elipse Balloon is a new approach to weight loss. It does not require surgery, endoscopy or anaesthesia.

The capsule is swallowed during a brief 20 minute outpatient consultation. Once the position is confirmed on X-ray, the capsule is inflated with liquid to become a balloon containing a pint of the liquid. Approximately 16 weeks later, it deflates and passes naturally. You will have regular follow up with the dietitian during this time to help you through your weight loss journey.

People joining the Elipse Programme lose on average between 10 and 15kg over the 16 weeks.

For self-funding patients this procedure costs £3,950.
