Mr Klezl’s main interest is spinal surgery and involves mainly instrumented procedures from anterior and posterior approaches covering: Disectomy for lumbar disc herniations using microscope. Instrumented (with metal implants) and non-instrumented lumbar decompressions. Tumour resection throughout the spine from anterior and posterior approaches. Percutaneous instrumentation. Cervical artificial disc replacement, fusion, laminoplasty and vertebral body resections. Reconstructions of vertebral bodies in osteporotic fractures with bone cement- vertebroplasty, kyphoplasty and vertebral stenting.
Mr Klezl is heavily involved in the AOSpine organisation (www.aospine.org) an international faculty on spinal courses throughout the world. He is AO Foundation Trustee and member of AOSpine United Kingdom Chapter. He is also senior lecturer at the Charles’ University in Prague. He is involved in the education of medical students of the Nottingham Medical school and Post Graduate Training of orthopaedic surgeons within the West Midlands rotation.
